Add to that an untested 29-year-old leader who is suddenly a four-star general with lots to prove. How does this end?
Japan Refuses to Give Up Whale Slaughter After Clash with Sea Shepherd

care2.com - By Alicia Graef - Feb. 24 (News Report) - Japan has rejected claims that this year’s whale hunt is over following a clash with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society in the Southern Ocean this week.

Sea Shepherd claims two of its vessels, the Steve Irwin and the Bob Barker, were rammed by the Japanese factory ship Nisshin Maru and that a Japanese escort vessel directed a water canon and launched concussion grenades at activists on Wednesday.

Sea Shepherd director Bob Brown said he has alerted authorities and wants immediate action against what he called “multiple breaches of international law,” in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He also said it the “worst incident” the group has seen since the Ady Gil sank in 2010 after a confrontation with whalers.

“They literally ran over the top of the Bob Barker. It looked like a tank crushing a car,” said Captain Paul Watson.

With her mother, she escaped to a nearby hill where they watched the enormous wave wash away their home. They waited all night, but her father never came to meet ...
NewsTrust Rating: 3.4 average (not enough reviews) - See Review » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

Democracy Now - By Amy Goodman, George Weller - Aug. 09 (Special Report) - As radiation readings in Japan reach their highest levels since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant meltdowns, we look at the beginning of the atomic age. Today is the 66th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Nagasaki, which killed some 75,000 people and left another 75,000 seriously wounded.
