The 9/11 commission was a long delayed and largely political whitewash operation that changed testimony to protect the administration, and so provides a questionable source in itself to use for fact checking. Fact checking should be performed on the commission report itself. Yet, many of their criticisms of the IAFF release seem to be worthy of presenting and evaluating. Tying the drift of this checking with their hit piece on Kucinich's war spending claim in the debates tends to cast a doubt on the true independence of the predispositions to the investigations performed by FactCheck.
