As a physician who supports the work of Beyond Pesticides, I wish that more of the additional information I know to exist had been presented in this accurate, but very mediocre, story. Mediocre journalism, but the topic is important to our health and the information provided, other than the quote saying it's ok for children to play on the lawns, is accurate. When you read that quote, remember that people used to say much the same thing about DDT.

A conventional analysis of the health hazards of pesticides, trying so hard to be even-handed it ends up having an odd perspective. In Canada, many municipalities have banned home use of pesticides including the city of Toronto. And many gardeners are shifting away from lawn to more eco-friendly habitats.
