Well written article summarizing the health-care debacle we are facing. Dr. Nichols wrote an insightful opinion piece, balanced, well sourced and provided some important ideas that might help to solve the lingering crisis. In contrast to most of the reporting in mainstream media this is worth reading.
Healthcare, the never-ending story... Rightfully so, as this problem will not go away as long as people continue to get sick. There is no easy solution to this complex problem facing not just the US, but many countries around the world. Personally I consider it unethical to deliver care based on an individuals ability to pay. At the same time I emphatically support the notion that people should receive FAIR compensation for their efforts. I firmly believe this is achievable. It does, however, require a drastic change in thinking towards finding solutions that benefit the majority of the people, a way of thinking that seems to have gotten lost in Washington and many subgroups of our population.
