Controversial architect Robert M. Scarano Jr., based in DUMBO, has been banned by the Department of Buildings (DOB) from filing construction plans ever again in New York City. This sounds like an important story, but the author doesn't go beyond the legal explanations for it. I don't know what Scarano actually did, what kinds of buildings these were, or what his impact on the public was. All I know is that he has been found to be breaking some rules and regulations.

In development-crazy NYC, this story is big news. The reporter presents the facts of what happened in a clear and organized way, without bias. Many stakeholders, including the architect/developer being banned for life from working in NYC, are quoted in the article.
