The writers do a creditable job presenting quotes from Romney during his interview aired on Face the Nation. They also do a fair job presenting some context on the President's support for the DREAM act. I welcome their observations that candidate Romney's responses often failed to answer the questions asked--a refreshing approach in an article that presents one candidate's campaign statements in detail, decrying the other candidate's actions as "political.' However, I fault the overall tone--set by the headline--for presenting Romney's position as fact-based, rather than as a pure political campaign script.
This is--surprise, surprise--a political campaign. When one candidate accuses the other of "playing politics," it is politics: campaign statements, not 'news.' And none of the quotes by Romney said what he would do if elected, in any substantive way. It is easy to attack the incumbent, and criticize the current conditions.
