This interesting Atlantic story is about a constructed map created by website-visualization firm Webempires that shows which are 'the number-one websites around the world, as calculated by traffic-tracking company Alexa. As the picture makes clear, Google dominates, with Facebook trailing not too far behind.' What I understand, the map includes number one websites in each country only. It does not include who owns what. If anybody wants to put that in that way, the map would look even more 'googly' since 'Google owns 23 of the top 100 sites in the world'(ref:PaulJacionis).
