Short article focusing on Citizens United as the primary cause of the Walker debacle in Wisconsin. However, it was only one of the major causes. That the recall voting mirrored the election voting bringing Walker into office demonstrates an insufficient number of voters considered the governor’s foray into dictatorship serious enough to merit recall. Still, this election shows Citizens United will play a monolithic role in coming elections until this special interest purchased decision by the Corporate Court (formerly Supreme Court) is overturned.

We’ve moved from a democracy, which is supposed to be based on one person, one vote, to something much more akin to one dollar, one vote. When you have that kind of democracy, it’s not going to address the real needs of the 99%.
