Good description of the statements and positions, a little light on digging into the technical merits.

In "Pax Americana" the former head of US missile defense calls it the biggest con job ever. The Russian positioning implies a fear that the missile defense could work. This maps into Kennedy's stated fear that some miscalculation or insanity could result in annihilation of life on the planet. All nuclear weapons need to be removed and destroyed. Society has to evolve or die from it's military disease.
