Obama Unveils Health Care Plan: A Defiant "Screw You" to Nation

(Audio - streaming) This bill, while it is right now just an unviable tissue mass which has zero humanity in it, needs to be aborted. I've always been pro-choice. I've always chosen life, except in this case. This bill needs to die. Full Story »

Limbaugh reads a few snippets from the White House's health care document, but his criticisms of the proposal cite no sources at all. The worst part, though, is a line calling for the health care bill to be "aborted" like "an unviable tissue mass which has zero humanity in it." This kind of frothy invective alienates listeners from all sides.

Perfect example of misinformation, presented as a partisan rant against President Obama's new health plan. This biased opinion news show is deeply offensive, not just to the liberals it seeks to ridicule, but also to anyone interested in civil discourse. It's filled with insults and derogative language, largely based on unsupported assertions, and generally distorting factual evidence to favor the author's viewpoint.

The sad thing about this type of misinformation is that so many people actually believe it to be true. Limbaugh has a special talent for manipulating people's base emotions, pushing their hot buttons with incendiary comments about wedge issues that he knows will get them fired up. Despicable but highly effective form of communication.

This is simply another Rush Rant. Limbaugh, along with O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, Levin and others on the right, don't offer fact. They offer what the audience wants to hear in return for ratings. Lies are of no concern. Sadly, those who listen to these "entertainers" take what they say as fact.
