A brief news article that adequately describes the filing of an important amendment. More background might be better for the lightly informed.
Huge piles of money has broken our purported democracy. That destruction existed prior to the Citizens United legislation from the supreme court. The amendment is very important to begin rolling back the destruction, but we also need elections that are funded by the people, not by the .08% of ridiculously rich donors. We need the amendment, public financing of elections, a diverse press, and an end to revolving door plush lobbying jobs after congress critters leave office. (Delayed bribes.)

The major thing that was apparent to me was that no one seemed to take the opposite opinion. Is it only the five Supreme Court justice who think that corporations have the same rights as citizens? It is a shame that we need to incorporate a constitutional amendment to demonstrate that it is individuals who have a right and not corporations. If the corporations have a right and the Board of Directors and the executive of the Corporation will have twice as many rights as your average citizen.
