Democrats Link Fortunes to Rise in Minimum Wage

WASHINGTON, July 12 — Democrats, seeking to energize voters over economic issues in much the way that Republicans have rallied conservatives with efforts to ban same-sex marriage, have begun a broad campaign to raise the minimum wage and focus attention on income inequality.

Covers opinions from both sides, discussing both politics and economy. Only one opponent of a minimum wage increase is specifically named. Only one economist interviewed, but the story claims that "most economists are dubious about the benefits of a minimum wage". The examination of teen unemployment rates is interesting. Could use more historical analysis to give the big picture.

Interesting, though scantly sourced, report on one of the tactics used by a U.S. political party to gain a foothold with the voters in the upcoming midterm elections.
