Important, frightening, well sourced and thoughtful analysis of right-wing Hindu nationalist movement in India. Makes the point that far from illustrating a "clash of [eastern and western] civilizations," the key ideas of Hindu nationalism derive from Europe - specifically, German fascism and ideas of "racial purity".

Sometimes it helps to understand fascist hate and fear in our own country by viewing the experiences of another culture. The piece is long, but amiable reading.
