An educational story with detailed personal accounts of the working poor and the companies that prey upon them in America. Relatively progressive for a major business magazine.

A thorough piece of journalism bringing light on an important story. The important piece missing is a discussion of legislative proposals for fixing this problem.

First rate piece of investigative journalism. Some regulatory ideas might be nice. And some discussion missing of the current practice of offering high interest-rated credit cards to illegal immigrants that certain large banks such as B of A are engaging in.

I'm suspecting that most of the people who read Business Week don't know the breadth of the minefield the working poor have to walk through in 2007. Nor do they know who benefits, short-term, by keeping people in poverty. The story is a reality check.
