In his revealing interview with Amy Goodwin, Larry Wilkerson uses restrained language to defend his former boss Colin Powell from the cheap shots taken by Dick Cheney in his recently released memoir. Wilkerson perceptively asserts that Cheney's book was "written out of fear that someday someone will 'Pinochet' Dick Cheney", inferring that the former vice-president belongs on a long list of indicted war criminals that includes politicians like the former Chilean dictator.

Wilkerson has to be admired, not only for his defense of Powell and his admission of complicity, but also for his willingness to testify against Cheney should the occasion arise. All this is, however, most likely wishful thinking as Cheney is only vulnerable in his crypt after the first crack of dawn.
