On my trip to Iraq, I embedded with the 1st Squadron of the 1st Infantry Division's 4th US Cavalry Brigade (based out of Fort Riley, Kansas). Some good information but this tory is marred bu being too one-sided. We all would have benefited from hearing from some Iraqi voices -- not just from US military ones -- as well as some more critical perspectives beyond the US line.

First person narrative of the security situation in Iraq. There are minor style issues (mosque is not a church) but otherwise well written.

The story, written from a first hand look via embedding with the 1-4 Cav, is an informative portrait of the challenges facing our troops in managing the allegiances of Iraqi civilians with the forces of Al Sadr in Baghdad.
