This is a well written and good article. For anyone who thinks and follows weather something has changed. This story shows many issues about changes in weather.

Even-handed journalism that looks at all the available data and presents it clearly and understandably.

As the author notes, this is exactly what I read years ago when scientists first started to warn of climate change--the first change would be extreme variability. Looks like we're well into that phase.

This opinion piece has little journalistic merit. It is a typical anti-science warmist ideological piece. The author has done no research or he would know that the examples of WEATHER he cites are not in any way unique. He doesn't even know about the real drought of 1975-6 in the U.K. He doesn't know about the real droughts in the U.S. in the 1930s and the 1960s.He is unaware that temperatures thus far in 2011 are cooler worldwide than most of the last ten years. He does not know that climate scientists state that a warmer climate will mean less extreme weather.
