Fishermen take risks after Katrina as many go without sky-high boat insurance

The dizzying rise of boat insurance -- a standard policy along the Gulf Coast now costs $8,000 to $25,000, depending on the boat size and coverage level -- poses the latest threat to the livelihoods of fishermen in the Gulf region. As the federal and state governments focus their recovery efforts on homeowners, many fishermen feel left behind. Insurance industry again puts out of reach a service for regular working Americans. The Katrina story is too much about the Insurance Industry.
