Ryan’s budget proposal is all the more amazing. Not only does it incorporate repeal of the Affordable Care Act, but it also dramatically slashes Medicaid and obliterates Medicare by transforming it into a scrawnily funded voucher program. To demonstrate how ignorant the author is, the House Budget Committee report was nothing new to informed Americans, since Rep. Ryan had been making the case in documents dating to 2008. It was no "bombshell", it represented a continuation of the arguments made by Ryan and many others (including Obama's own deficit commission!) about the dangerous upward curve of deficits.
