While not necessarily "balanced", I would say that this analysis piece is effective at making at pointing out a shift in Washington in a measured way.

This article provides little new information, but does a very good job of providing an overview of the changes that have occurred since the Democratic Party took control of Congress.

This is excellent journalism, and not because almost everything I have recently thought about the present Democratic party comes into it, but because it puts into ecellent language the facts. I could never have worded it as well. I had been feeling depressed because all my hopes for total changes seemed to have fallen short.
