You are aware that the Russian report, titled simply “Chernobyl,” was written by three eminent scientists: Russian biologist Dr. Alexey Yablokov, former environmental advisor to the Russian president; Dr. Alexey Nesterenko, a biologist and ecologist in Belarus; and Dr.Vassili Nesterenko, a physicist and at the time of the accident director of the Institute of Nuclear Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. On what basis do you assert that these scientists “were unfamiliar with radiation biology”? Perhaps your dismissal is mostly of this review, not the report itself, which was translated from the original Russian into English and published by the New York Academy of Sciences. On what basis do you write that the review is “an attack on science with basis in fact”?
