Peter King's modern-day witch hunt

"There is nothing radical or un-American in holding these hearings," Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) claimed Thursday as he launched his McCarthyite probe of American Muslims. He could not have been more wrong. If King is looking for threats to our freedoms and values, a mirror would be the place to start. Full Story »

Articles by op-ed columnist, Eugene Robinson, are always bang-on. This excellent article is no exception. Not only are there plenty of quotes and links to support his assertion that King’s “hearings” are nothing more than overblown dramaturgy, but the video of Rep. Ellison breaking down as he describes the young Muslim who perished in the World Trade Center attempting to rescue victims is not only powerfully emotional, but makes falsehood of King’s sham reasons for what Robinson describes as “peddling hooey”.

In my opinion, King's boldness and mission is more importantly an indictment of those in his constituancy who accept his maddness and "follow as ... More »

MCarthy lives. Fortunately, many have learned history's lesson. Still, those who have not can inflict unnecessary damage and pain. Eugene Robinson clearly shows the hypocrisy of Representative Peter King's opening statement.
