Gay marriage amendment sheer nonsense

NEW YORK (CNN) -- President Bush this week urged Congress to pass a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, at a time when the United States faces some of the greatest challenges in our nation's history.

So, logically, what could possibly better ensure the prosperous and bright future of working men and women and their families than for the Senate to work on a constitutional amendment that is guaranteed to fail?

Using the phrase "wedge issues" ten times won't win you the Pulitzer this time... Dobbs establishes his credibility with conservatives by using affective words to describe his reactionary positions: "illegal aliens *flood*", "*drowning* in debt", "war against *radical* Islamist terrorists". With this trick he can to attack the GMA (scoring with liberals) without losing conservatives. This "article" smacks of the politico's middle-ground calculations to maximize votes, or in this case, site hits.
