Govt drops defense of anti-gay marriage law

The Obama administration says it will no longer defend the constitutionality of a federal law that bans recognition of same-sex marriage.

In a statement Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Holder says President Barack Obama has concluded that the administration can no longer defend the federal law that defines marriage as only between a man and a woman.

Amazing to search and find so very little in print, even if this is a "Breaking News Item" First saw a bulletin from Yahoo, than a couple banners only to find this AP article.

This correct stand by Obama and his Justice department is long overdue.

Wow! First Don't Ask, Don't Tell and now this! Seems a lot of gay rights folks who have been so highly critical of Obama will need to rethink their attitudes.
