Notes: Everybody who pays attention to politics in the Bay Area knows Rep. Tauscher is a conservative Democrat. This is hardly news. Though the fact that they're writing about it in D. C. interests me. And the story itself raises some interesting points. I thought the part about Rep. Harmon, another well-known California conservative Democrat, was interesting. She, of course, famously lost a position she thought should be hers because she's butted heads too often with the new speaker. I ... More »

Notes: The subtitle, "moderate democrat is new target of liberal bloggers," indicates a skewed perspective. I am wary of the labels, liberal, conservative, and most especially, centrist. In a time when conservatives not only hold office but are in the judiciary, the center has moved to the right. So, this story and one's opinion of Tauscher, will mean something different to those with conservative or liberal viewpoints. The story tells readers there is a quarrel but doesn't address what ...
