The audio captures the audience's immediate attention with the sound of Schneidman's slow breathing. Audio has attention grabbing abilities beyond text. The photos provided the background of Shneidman's lifestyle. With such a personal topic, there needs to be added dimension.

This medium works very well for the topic. The photos go along almost perfectly with the audio and help tell the man's story in a symbolic way. For example, when Shneidman is talking about how he doesn't think he has much time left to live, a photo of a clock and a watch appears. The slideshow is simple yet powerful and moving.

This slideshow is of good journalism because it presents such a unique personal account. While it might not be breaking news, the audio of the man reflecting on the last days of his life along with the photos of him, the deteriorating statue, the watch and the empty table all work well together to present the man's story.

This slide show represented the very essence of Online Journalism. The title itself showed an overwhelming amount of saddness that captured the audience, including myself. The pictures and how the slide show was constructed proved that this old man was waiting patiently to die. The medium should great exposure to the topic at hand, but maybe there could have been more writing at the bottom of the page. The photo and not having audio helped keep the viewer focused and attentive, may Edward rest in peace.

I think this is a great medium for this. The pictures as well as the words are both so powerful that together they make an extraordinary piece. The pictures are placed in perfect timing with the words which another reason why it works so nicelyl. This piece is not exactly news worthy, but is certainly a moving piece.
