Palin aide: 'Never intended gun sights'

An aide to Sarah Palin said images of crosshairs were never meant to evoke violence, in the Palin camp's first extended comment on yesterday's attack. "We never ever, ever intended it to be gun sights," Rebecca Mansour told the talk radio host Tammy Bruce in an interview transcribed by the Alaska Dispatch. Fails to provide the context of other Palin posts such as the "reload" one. Taken together, they give lie to Mansour's denials. And the idea that environmentalists or Al Gore ever said anything remotely similar is pretty crazy unless she's talking about the folks who torch ski resorts and spike trees. But they don't incite violence. They do it. So she's mixing metaphors here and Politico doesn't call her on that either. Same goes for being wounded during what was probably a robbery for drug money. Not the same.

Where are the counterpoints beyond the last sentence to the nonsensival assertions the cross hairs are not intended to be a bullseye?
