The Bureaucrat between 50 million Americans and Health Care

As one of the 50 million Americans presently without health insurance, I'm sitting here, fingers crossed, hoping I don't get sick. So far, I've been lucky. The comments are even more interesting than the blog posting itself. Oehmke presents standard statistics (twice as much spent proportionately on health care as other advanced countries with worse results). Presents the argument that a well-run public system is the only system with enough clout to impact and hence "compete with" the insurance companies.

Misses the point that government health care rations care and encourages old people to die quickly. Also misses that Democrats friends the trial lawyers impose a huge cost on health care via lawsuits and enforced defensive medicine.
