Katharine Weymouth's proposed "salon" with Washington lobbyists, Washington Post news staff and government officials pushes beyond reason the limits of how far a newspaper will go to find new sources of revenue. Apparently this was all the work of a couple overzealous marketing execs, but I'll wait for someone other than the Post to tell me that. While I trust Howard Kurtz enough to give this story a decent rating, this controversy cripples the Post's credibility.
