The author’s main point is that Americans do not understand what is happening in Iran. All of his quotes and much of what he states about Americans comes from far right sources. He seems to be putting all Americans in the same box, which is his complaint about American views.

too much rambling. I got confused half way down the article because the topic seemed to have changed from the US being mis-informed to the Iranian internal struggles and elections.
