A TV roundtable discussion format in which a variety of people express their opinions about the value of charter schools. When I first retired I thought my experience and advanced education would be of value as a substitute teacher. My experience substituting in charter schools was that it was substandard education in the field of public education–itself a major scandal of incompetence, politics, penurious education, and who gives a damn about students?. Interestingly, when charter school teachers were offered jobs in “real” education–that is, in public schools–to a person, they jumped at the chance.
