The article presents an overview of a recent poll. Apparently independents, whoever they are, are unhappy because Obama has had only five months to prove that he can walk on water. It also indicates that they don't see an alternative. It would have been useful to see the actual questions used, since poll results often turn on how questions are asked.

Time elapsed is less than 10 percent of his term. There is always falloff in popularity in the few months after an election, especially if no miracles are produced. I'm somewhat disturbed by the question of his being 'liberal' - would like to know more about what 'independents' think this means. It would probably be more worrisome if this result came in year3 of his term.
