Reparations for slavery is an emotional issue with complex historical and cultural threads. This piece does well to bring up the Senate apology, but doesn't go into the reparation issue in much depth.

This is a monumental event for this nation to begin the healing process of race relation. It should begin with the leadership setting the example for the nation to follow.
