This is a touching story, but the story doesn't say whether or not there was independent verification that the short study was conducted without bias by the filmmaker. I'm not saying it is, or isn't biased, but every day seemingly factual stories end up in our email boxes, only to be debunked as urban legend. A big part of me wants to hope that is the case here.

its inspiring what a thoughtful citizen can do with a video camera and access to the web.

Just the shot of the little girl being ashamed to choose the doll that looked like herself is enough to cause extreme discomfort at the reality that this story exposes. The institutionalization of self-depricatingly racist thoughts in a minority population is extremely apparent through the simple choices of these young children. The main question now is: what must be done?

How sad that so little has changed. What a brilliant young woman the filmaker is!
