How Corporate America Perpetuates the Health Care Crisis

Take this idiotically simple question that is almost never asked in the normal course of this country's political debate: Why do we hear so much about how well-off America is, yet our country has the highest number of uninsured citizens in the industrialized world?

A biting piece criticizing politicians for not taking or seeking opportunities to provide universal health care. A lot of information and sources, but a definitely biased view -- what one would expect from an opinion article.

The story outlines the problem well, but leaves the solution in the readers hands. This is quite unfair given the complexity of the issue. The massachusetts plan was highlighted as an example, but this except left me wondering what he meant. "The Bay State's moves are certainly controversial--especially the steep mandates on uninsured individuals and the desperate efforts to protect the health insurance industry".

hOW TO GET NATIONAL hEALTH iNSURANCE into a politicla discussion has been nearly impossible..Reports like this are sorely needed--How to get something to take the bucks out of "administration of HMO's etc. and universal health care is long time coming.
