Politics makes strange bedfellows. In their zealousness to attack the Clinton Administration, anticipating that Hillary Clinton will run for president, as indeed she is, the right-wing Weekly Standard takes up the lance with this FOIA story. In the telling, it emerges that this actually took place on Nixon's watch, a Republican, making it absurd to blame anything on Clinton, who of couse ran for president much later. Very heavily slanted against Arafat; yes, the man was light-years from being an angel, but I'm nonetheless sure the Israelis & their toadies have plenty of their share to answer for.

Why is this ax-grinding article in this ax-grinding publication up for review? I just wasted 12 minutes of my life trying to get through this convoluted piece of ancient history that throws daggers somehow claiming that it is relevant today. It is badly sourced with anonymous sources. Phooey. I want that 12 minutes of my life back.
