This story makes a good point. However, it lacks depth and detail that would add much to these ideas.

An insightful, though brief, look at the recommendations of a panel regarding the importance of setting national education standards. The piece touches on a key point that has plagued the current system -- that different states often have very different (and sometimes lower) standards -- but it doesn't look at it with much depth.
