Senator Specter is a Republican who occasionally shows some responsible ethics and common sense, despite abandoning labor on the EFCA. While the article is a bit self-serving, it provides some collected inside history. His argument for a roll-back is worthy, though it would have been more credible if put forth during the Bush campaign and before McCain was defeated. i encourage readers to compare this with another newstrust story, 'the undemocratic power grab' ( l.a. times), with a similar theme. not only is this one long enough to include greater context and sourcing, those are used by the writer to make reasonable, convincing arguments about executive power

Can't call it journalism. More like legacy protection or a lengthy campaign ad. But Specter raises some good points, and certainly has a unique perspective to contribute.
