Suppose you want to invest a dollar with the goal of increasing world economic equality, and so you are considering how to make that dollar work to the best advantage of poor people in poor countries. Insightful analysis of different approches to reducing poverty, comparing microfinance strategies to supporting girls'e education. The author's thoughtful opinions are presented reasonably, and backed with factual evidence. A greater diversity of viewpoints and sources would make this piece even more helpful.

This is an opinion piece. It is a clear and well-written personal opinion. It does not contain as much detail or pointers to detail as it should to be helpful to people new to the dabate. It expects the reader to accept the authority of the writer when ample supporting material is available to be linked. This is a blog, right? I would have been more enthusiastic about even a couple of strong attributed quotes. And, generally, I support the premise.
