Perhaps more for marketing than critical reporting, but the new hybrids and electrics are of interest as they try out new mixtures of technology.

A detailed roundup of new cars, both concept and production vehicles, employing various technologies to reduce fuel consumption. The article is primarily about partially electric and electric drive cars, but includes other design elements in the analysis.
The long-term environmental value of plug-in electric vehicles somewhat eludes me, as power generation from coal- and oil-fired plants is still too prevalent (and in many cases, quite dirty). Still, I'm glad to see the auto industry moving forward towards better fuel efficiency/less reliability on fossil fuels within vehicles.
