a good column because the author makes quite a number of reasonable-sounding suggestions for how to retain the boston globe newspaper, which take into account what others have tried, what as a local person he knows about in local web site offerings, and other newspaper related problems in general. with his suggestions are factual rationales.. i would have liked more figures both for the current crisis, and projections for some of the possible solutions.
i would hope that some of these or other possible solutions are utilized to maintain the paper's on-going viability

The author presents some interesting recommendations for actions the struggling newspaper might take to address the needs of an increasingly fragmented readership. Plenty of good factual evidence from multiple sources, with helpful context about the crisis in journalism.
I really enjoyed reading this piece, which offers common-sense and very specific prescriptions to the Boston Globe. Kennedy avoids "throwing the baby out with the bath water" in his calls for online innovation.
