This is a four-page article that lays out the comparison between our situation now and that of Germany after WWI. Talk about fascism has been co-opted by the right since the election of Obama. Nancy Pelosi has been compared to Hitler, and Obama to Madoff, but the danger of fascism has not gone away. It is good that Freeman has brought up the subject again in a serious way, continuing the watch begun during the Bush presidency. Democracy is by no means safe.

A remarkably one-sided view of the events that have led to our current economic crisis and the dangers that lie ahead. It would be hard to discredit the notion that tyranny is a real danger given the scope of the problems we face, and certainly the recent "We hope Obama fails" rhetoric, especially that mouthed by Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, is condemnable. An insightful article summing up the failure of the conservative mantra, amply demonstrating that neocons depend on fear and rage as fertile fields upon which to sow their religion of hate, distortions, racism, and falsehoods. Despite all the neocon protestations, the failure of conservatism and its bankrupt philosophy threw America into its decline. For us, the parade may have already gone by.

Unless America creates a new green industry to replace the 19th century industry neocons moved overseas, we cannot sustain ourselves as a world power.

Simply put, the Republicans hate Democrats more than they love America. If they succeed in derailing Obama’s efforts, the cost will be incalculable. More »
