As Jarvis notes, The Guardian will make its content freely available to be used by a wide variety of third-party platforms, as long as those using it agree to carry Guardian advertising. Jarvis could have done a better job of helping us visualize what this will look like in practice.

This is probably too esoteric for someone who doesn't follow media news to find worthwhile. But I think Jarvis offers some valuable perspective on the Guardian's use of API distribution.

this piece applies to the thesis of the newstrust article, 'behind the incredibly shrinking media' in its description of how the guardian is keeping up with technology to maintain its news relevance. i wish there had been more actual data here and some voices from other news providers in discussion.
