Roger Cohen offers an astute defense of his earlier column on the status of Iranian Jews. He debunks what he calls "caricatures" of Iranian society and government, using mostly anecdotal evidence to support his claims. For this piece, I think this approach was effective, though at points I think he understates the fanaticism among the mullahs to make his case.

A report on the misconceptions that most jews and gentals have of life in Iran. Contrary to peoples ideas, the majority of people living in Iran are under forty.
