Both describe the stomach-turning 6.2 percent drop in the gross domestic product during the last quarter of 2008. Not really. The lead is over 50 words in length, and the story reads like a kid's show-and-tell ("and then..., and then..., and then"). The broader Reagan implication is an interesting angle, one that has been largely overlooked by the walky-talkies in the mainstream, but it falls apart with the inarticulate writing.
