This is an interesting commentary about newspaper problems. It includes some ownership ideas. However, it does not discuss about why some many papers are owned by a limited number of owners. Do you remember, when an owner of a paper purchased a radio of television station within same city or area, they were required to sell the paper?

Bowman looks at the journalistic benefits of newspapers and the economic problems causing them to disappear. The case in point is the Seattle PI, but the problem is national. He looks at some alternative ownership models.
