Remind Obama what he said about war

Have we learned nothing from Iraq? "When it comes to the war in Iraq, the time for promises and assurances, for waiting and patience is over. Too many lives have been lost and too many billions have been spent for us to trust the president on another tried-and-failed policy." That was Sen. Barack Obama in January 2007. Well-written opinion. The column recommends more economic support and less war and submits the postulate that war didn’t solve anything in Iraq and won’t solve anything in Afghanistan, either–proved by the morass Russia fell into during its invasion of that country. Indeed. it became a factor in the collapse of Communism.

Didn’t we learn anything in Iraq? Of course not! It was to be a quick, painless victory making it possible for the Bush administration to gain control of its oil. But then, what did we learn from Viet Nam? Or from Korea? Both Democratic attempts to contain big bad Communism.
