Very interesting to me, as I had no idea about all of this. It doesn't quite prove that there are lots of poster boys, but presents enough evidence to get the idea out there.

This is a topic that isn't deeply probed in mainstream media, but is a growing cultural influence, shaping our visual and mental environment. Namely, the war between ads and graffiti.
