Nagourney does the expected and over-calculates the importance of the elections in New Jersey and Virginia. I think the average reader would be a little misled by this story. He only looks at the national impact of the potential outcomes, even though these are state-level elections. Some of his predictions -- in particular that a Republican sweep would impede Obama onthe health care and global warming bills -- are not well supported.
