This opinion piece has minimal journalistic merit. The author has not done any research on the multi-faceted tea-party movement, but simply picks examples to fit his prejudices. He is not aware that the tea-party groups are the strongest supporters of women and minority candidates in the U.S., likely to elect the first women governors in South Carolina, Oklahoma, New Mexico and California, for example.
